This scripture reference above is a snapshot of the beginning of the growing reputation for later to be King David. Talk about a talented public figure / celebrity for Jesus of his day! Skilled shepherd, anointed musician, fearless warrior and mighty king! But we also all know despite these many gifts, he had his share of weaknesses - some of which led to irreversible public and private consequences. There is something so real, raw and relatable about David - the man after God's own heart- who also had so many pressures and personal struggles.
